Everyone has been asking me more specifics about my 21-day fix results and transformation and so I’m taking a little more time to go into depth about this program, my before and after photos, and some results from my challenge group. I lost a total of 15 pounds and loads of inches with the 21 day fix, which is a lot, considering I was already working out EVERYDAY. I have super satisfied with my progress and my results. I’m not usually the type of person who watches the scale, but seeing this much loss and the overall change in the way my clothes looked and the way I felt was so inspiring—and a little incredible! I learned a lot from this program about portion control and highly recommend it.

Making the commitment

 

How I usually keep track of my progress is through how well my clothes fit or if I feel better and have more energy because these things matter more than the number on the scale. No matter what my scale says if I don’t feel healthy, I won’t be satisfied. Believe me guys when I say this, because I have been there and it really sucks. Being unhealthy is no fun.

If you long for a change but worry about what people think or say, you need to make a commitment to change for yourself. Your health is something that should be non-negotiable for you. If you feel like you do not have energy or if you are feeling fat, start working out and eating healthy and you will not only look better but you will feel better as well.

When I was doing the 21-Day Fix, my main focus was on working out every day, eating right and using the portion size containers for making sure I was not overeating. I was also drinking Shakeology which really helped me up my game and perform better in my workouts. Never once did I ever obsess about my weight or if I was losing fast enough. These things tend to mess with your head so I just kept on going and the results I got shocked me.

21 Day Fix Paleo

If you guys are starting the 21-Day Fix, I would suggest you stay away from baked goods because that is what I did. I focused on eating whole and healthy foods and cut out any form of processed foods. I did a Paleo version of this meal plan (more information on my 21 Day Fix Paleo post). I did eat a lot of dark chocolate because it is healthy and it helped me control my cravings but that is pretty much what I did. I ate clean and this time around I am following intermittent fasting.

What is intermittent fasting?

It is a form of fasting that is great for weight loss and allows you to eat all of your macronutrients within an 8-hour window. I eat Paleo, so it just doesn’t get better than this. I have been really successful with this way of eating and when I start the 21-Day Fix again, I plan to do so while fasting intermittently. This is actually the part of my job which I love the most. Sharing with you guys new and interesting ways to lose weight and when I receive testimonials about how great these techniques work, it makes my day and probably my year.

I am asked all the time “how are you able to eat clean for so long?” Well, it’s not as complicated as people think and this program definitely shows that. The 21-day fix just makes anyone’s busy life so much easier. You don’t have to think so much about what you are going to eat, just put it in the containers and go. I don’t have to track points, calories, etc.

I was even able to treat myself to Chinese food and pizza once in a while, or go out to eat with my friends and still have it fit into the plan. It is important for EVERYONE to try this program at least ONCE. Trust me, you will be blown away! I get choked up thinking about how my life has changed so drastically doing something that is NOT drastic at all!

Before I started: My initial concern was that I was going to starve or feel deprived or that I would get so frustrated and just quit.

What blew me away was the simplicity of it and that I never went hungry. I was able to go out to eat, have a treat meal, eat chocolate, or chips etc. I never felt like I was missing out.

My favorite parts of the routine was making different creations from the food options. The plan is super flexible, and allowed me to still enjoy cooking.

The hardest part of this routine was eating all the food. I do not like veggies, at all, and I still have a difficult time finishing all the food!

My final results were 16 lbs. in my first 21 days, with a total of 35 pounds after doing it again.

What I would recommend: Do not get overwhelmed or make it more complicated than it has to be. Stick to a routine. I am a creature of habit and ate the same foods almost every day. Meal prepping is key!

The best part of this program: It takes all the guess work out of my nutrition. I still get a little choked up when I talk about my journey because without this program I do not think I would be experiencing the transformation in my health that I am feeling today.
