The 21 Day Fix Meal Plan
This diet is really just a meal plan, with 7 color coded containers in different sizes to carry with you wherever you go. The containers are well made, and are dishwasher and microwave safe. They are even BPA free, easy to close and seal very well. You can follow 21 Day fix recipes, or easily create your own.
- 1 Green for Vegetables (8 oz.)
- 1 Purple for Fruit (8 oz.)
- 1 Red for Protein (6 oz.)
- 1 Yellow for Carbohydrates (5.3 oz.)
- 1 Blue for healthy fats and dairy (2.7 oz.)
- 2 Orange for seeds and oils ((2 oz.)
- 1 Shakeology cup for mixing drinks
To begin your meal plan, the guide starts you off with simple calculation to determine exactly how many calories you will need to eat. You then match the number to a chart to determine your servings out of each container per day. As you lose weight, you need to recalculate your calories per day.
Current weight (lbs) x 11 = your baseline
Your baseline + 400 (Fix calorie burn) = calorie need
Your calorie need – 750 (calorie deficit) = target calories
If your target is less than 1200 calories then round it up to 1200, when it’s over 2300, round it down to 2300.
An example daily meal plan for 1,200 – 1,499 calories:
- 3 green
- 2 purple
- 4 red
- 2 yellow
- 1 blue
- 1 orange
- 2 teaspoons of healthy fats
The 21 Day Fix Workouts
There are seven total workouts in the plan, plus a 10 minute abdominal workout that you can add in when you choose. Each full length workout is about 30 minutes and they are very easy to follow. You do one workout a day. Every day. This is just for the 21 days, though 30 minutes daily is good way to live a healthy lifestyle.

Each workout has an easy warm up period, followed by fairly intense, but easy to follow routines. There is an easier modifier included for each workout, so you can choose your intensity level.

My 21-Day Fix Review
I have tried many Beachbody programs and can vouch for the results which are guaranteed if you follow the program to the T. I already knew the results of the 21-day fix would be anything but ordinary. When I received my package in the mail, I was delighted to see that there were a total of 7 workouts and a bonus abs workout that ran up to ten minutes, something extra for those who really want to lose belly fat.
The program also comes with a meal plan and containers, plus a Shakeology container. This plan is great because if you really want to make a difference with your body for a special occasion, such as a wedding or a reunion/prom, you need to focus on what you eat. You can work out until your eyes bleed (not fun) but won’t achieve results you want until and unless you get the nutrition part right. 90% of results comes from nutrition and the daily dose of dense nutrition from Shakeology is a game changer for your health on a cellular level.
Which is why not only does the 21-day fix offer a series of great and effective workouts but it also guides you on how to eat right. I played the workouts as soon as I had a free moment and was not surprised to see that they were great, effective and short, but that is because everyone knows that the workouts designed by Beachbody are some of the best on the market.
I was pleased to see the addition of yoga and Pilates to the seven workouts, simply because I have always believed that Pilates and yoga are essential parts of workouts along with weights and cardio. This is one of the first weight loss programs that include yoga, cardio, weights and Pilates. Bravo Beachbody! Till now, I was trying hybrid programs by combining multiple Beachbody programs, such as Piyo, Insanity, T25 and whatever I had on hand. These are some of the best workouts that have gotten me the best results ever.
Finally, the workouts in the 21-day fix are perfect for those who are short on time because each of them takes just 30 minutes. You only have to perform one workout a day and following the meal plans in order to get to your best body as of yet.
If you are thinking why is the program for 21 days and not an entire month? The answer is pretty simple but astounding at the same time. It takes us 21 days to build a habit which is why by following the 21-day fix, you can form a healthy eating as well as workout habit and be able to follow it throughout your life without guidance.
Before and After 21 Day Fix
On day 5 for the bikini-prep program I did with my challengers, I had lost 8lbs! The only other time I dropped weight that fast was during a cleanse & I couldn’t workout + my diet was super restricted.
