I am so grateful to be able to sit here and tell you guys about how much my life has changed now that I’m celebrating my 3-Year Beachbody Coach anniversary. 3 years ago on January 6, 2011 I said “yes” to this opportunity.  I was just like you.  I didn’t know what Beachbody or Shakeology was. I had just finished 90 days of P90x and wasn’t so sure about this “shake stuff.” I had met my coach on Facebook, so I didn’t really know what her angle was but all I DID know was she looked amazing and swore by Beachbody.  After years of doing what I thought would work (and getting nowhere) I decided to sign up as a coach and purchase Shakeology.  I opted for the coach account honestly because she told me it would save me 25% and if I could help 3 people get involved then it would cover the cost of my monthly superfoods.  I figured being a coach would also keep me accountable and give me the ability to get a community together of my own (like my coach had done.) However, I didn’t have a desire to really “work the business.” My focus was 100% on getting in the best shape of my life and any talk of making money was not motivating at all. I was very focused on going to school and finishing my degree in multimedia design but after completing 60 days of Insanity & Shakeology…something changed in me.  I started doing ChaLean extreme after that and stayed focused on getting in the best shape possible for my friends wedding in Key Largo.

Here is a photo of me after a few months doing Beachbody and drinking Shakeology everyday. I felt confident, sexy, strong, athletic and happy. I wanted to shout from the roof tops what this community had done for me! I couldn’t believe that was me! For the first time in my life I was thin and happy with my body.  I was a believer! Going from a size 12 to a 2 in 6 months completely changed my outlook on life, on myself and what I could achieve.  There is something about the physical challenge of staying committed to yourself and your goals that changes your life.  I had never been this focused before and stuck with it and I truly feel I couldn’t have done it without my coach, the support groups, the community and the accountability I had built on social media sharing my journey.  So back to this photo.  This is me in the pool, in my bikini in front of all my high school friends and just enjoying myself. My goal was to show up and surprise everyone with how different I looked, share with them how I got healthy (at that time I had just celebrated 3 years of sobriety as well) and to really be proud to see all my old friends and not have to see photos from the wedding and pick myself apart.  I really believe what Tony Horton says “when your house is in order (your body, mind and soul) then your life is in order.” I had found what works for me!

I had a lot of firsts that weekend. It was my first time being a maid of honor. My first time wearing a bandeau bikini top in public, my first time wearing a high wasted swim suit and feeling sexy in it.  My first time having people ask me “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” It just felt good! I came back from that wedding weekend on fire to really pay this forward. Helping others achieve greatness has been my main focus from day one and it will forever be my purpose in life. I am grateful every day that something that started with a DVD turned into my calling and is making a huge ripple effect in the world.

I was so excited to start, I knew this was going to work for me if I just worked it!

I created some great accountability from using Facebook, I was having lots of fun. I started basically coaching people without the “coach” title attached to my name. This facebook snapshot above is BEFORE I signed up for the coach account.  My coach kept telling me I’d be great at this and I was starting to believe her.  I started to think that if others could make this their full time job, why not me? Not have to wait tables anymore? Get paid to get fit? Help others? Is this REAL? YES IT IS!! I had NO IDEA what was in store for me. All I knew was that I was pushing myself outside of my comfort zone and I wanted MORE! I started saying “why not me” more and more everyday until finally…I decided to MAKE IT ME!!!

This is me today after a workout with my husband. 3 years later we are doing P90X3 and I’ve never looked back. I continue to reach  new levels with my fitness, health and business.  I have a team of over 600 coaches who are on this journey with me. I’ve helped hundreds if not thousands of people and I’m making 6-figures doing what I’d be doing anyway! I truly feel if you are focused on helping others you can go far in life. I’m always looking for quality people with big hearts and a true love for fitness. I’ve changed my life, my husbands life and can’t wait to see whose life will be changed next! I’m going to talk a bit about the income and how much my life has changed in other aspects too because I think it’s very important for people to understand that this is a REAL business that ANYBODY can do.  We are just ordinary people doing extraordinary things and I’m so grateful for this Beachbody Coach anniversary.

I WANT TO PREFACE THE FOLLOWING BY SAYING, IT’S ALL OVER THE PLACE. TALKING ABOUT MY INCOME MAKES ME VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I HOPE IT INSPIRES YOU NONE THE LESS! 🙂

When I first had my call with my coach to talk about what I wanted to do with this business, I had one goal and that was to replace my 10 year job as a waitress with coaching. I thought it would be so awesome to be able to continue getting fit and considering I was doing it anyway, why not make it my job? I truly believe Beachbody can change anybody’s life and I didn’t even care about the money.  However, I had seen multiple success stories of people who were just like me making 6-figures or becoming millionaires working from home. I had no sales experience, I had no degree in business, I had no idea how to market myself, I didn’t know what network marketing was, I had no opinions on this type of business. All I knew was that Beachbody worked for me, so it could work for anybody.  So, I got to work. I started doing personal development, learning what it took to be an entrepreneur and growing my business. I started off just like everybody else. At zero. I had to teach myself how to be successful doing this but I wanted this more than anything in the world. So, I set a goal to quit my job after 1 year.  Here’s a snap shot of how much I was making a week without really focusing on the business. This was just me helping people and getting them involved in getting healthy.  I knew it would take time and I was okay with that. As long as I’m bettering myself, my family and the lives of others I felt the slight edge working in my life.

So, this is what I was making A WEEK in my first 4 months of being a coach. I signed up January 6, 2011 and the commissions you see here were just from friends and family wanting to get involved in what I was doing. I wasn’t actively “pursing coaching” until April. I managed to get to the rank of Emerald/cover the costs of my monthly Shakeology just from focusing on helping others reach THEIR goals and when I decided to make this my part-time job from home, I just kept doing that but with goals attached to my actions and a clear cut focus on where I was going. My attitude was, I can either not do this at all and stay where I am or do this to the best of my ability and become a better person from it and move myself up in the world.  I had a deep fear of being a waitress for the rest of my life, that had to change.

This is how much I was making a week after 1 year of working this business 30 minutes to 1 hour a day.  I was probably putting in about 7-8 hours a week and managed to get it to the point where I could really start thinking about quitting my job.  I want to really hammer in that I had NO TIME in my first year. I was working full time, going to school full time, I interned, I got a puppy, I had a boyfriend…I was BUSY. I would work my business from my phone commuting to and from work on the BART, in between classes, before/after my workouts and whenever I could sneak in a photo of my food/workouts or results.  There are people who have grown their incomes much faster than I have but they had the time to do it. I want to show you guys this to illustrate that it took TIME to slowly compound these weeks together and it IS possible to be busy and to make this work.  You just have to be consistent and keep you eye on the prize.

This is a photo of me leaving work for the last time back in April 2012! I quit my job after 11 months working this business LESS than part time.  I had earned a free trip to Atlantis, Bahamas through Beachbody and my job wouldn’t give me the time off.  Let me just add that I was a great employee. Thanks to my new found healthy lifestyle I never got sick (because of Shakeology). So, I was always at work. I always picked up shifts when others got sick. I worked doubles, triples, whatever they wanted! But, when it came time to go on this trip that they KNEW I worked so very hard to earn and they said no – enough was enough. I am just so grateful that I was able to quit and just follow my bliss.  I was making JUST enough to cover my expenses but sometimes you just have to take that LEAP! Here’s a video I made 2 days before my last shift.

income

Above is how much I made A WEEK in December (last month.) In less than one year, my income went from anywhere from $300-$1200 a week to $2700-$3200/wk PLUS bonuses.  I’ve been on 3 ALL EXPENSES paid trips and as an Elite coach, I also make a $500 bonus each month and a few thousand dollars bonus each quarter as a 5-Star ranked coach.  I’m not saying this to brag and quite frankly, this isn’t even that impressive compared to some other coaches in the network but for ME, this is amazing because I went from living paycheck to paycheck, working full time as a waitress, going to school because I thought it was my only option to working full time from home, making my first 6-figures, retiring my husband (he also works at home as a Beachbody coach) and being able to do this for OTHERS! I have more than tripled my income in 3 years….can you imagine what it will be like 3 years from now? That’s the way this business works. You don’t have to wait for a raise or a promotion, pick up shifts, work over time, HOPE you get a holiday bonus. You can give YOURSELF a raise and a promotion and make yourself proud.  I knew I was a hard worker and I had a lot of offer when I was a waitress but I wasn’t treated as such, which is why I decided to go into business for myself. I had a deep desire to reach my full potential, so I am on my way.

There is so much more I can talk about but I wanted to share a bit about how I got to where I am and what it takes.  I know it seems difficult or impossible for people, so I try my best to lead by example and show the road I took so more of us can get our lives back. If you want to see more of what has happened in my life, take some time to look around my blog, come follow me on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM as well as watch these montages of a few videos I’ve made documenting my journey:
