You will work your abs, you will work your legs, and you will get cardio and agility. Oh and one more thing, YOU WILL SWEAT LIKE A BEAST! After all, the program isn’t named the Hammer and Chisel for no reason is it? So, if done correctly, this workout will get you in phenomenal shape.
Master’s Hammer and Chisel Results
Results are POURING in from our Master’s and Chisel pilot group. Do you want to see the before and after results? Here’s just one of them.
Hammer and Chisel is a mix of weight lifting and nutrition that is great for both men and women, despite the focus on weights. While many of the other weightlifting programs in the Beachbody family are more focused on helping the guys get a ripped physique, this resistance training program is well suited to both men and women.
Who’s behind this innovative new program?
Hammer and Chisel is a joint project from champion bodybuilder Sagi Kalev, the man behind Body Beast, and nutrition and fitness expert Autumn Calabrese, whose 21 Day Fix offers usable, real-life tips and tricks to transform a poor diet into a healthy one that feeds your body and your mind. Sagi’s portion of the workout is the Hammer, while Autumn’s is the Chisel. The entire program centers on building muscle mass and getting the sexy, shredded body of your dreams.
Who’s right for Hammer and Chisel?
This workout is all about building muscle and strengthening your core. If you love cardio and aren’t into weights, this workout might not be right for you. But if you’re a woman whose worried that the weightlifting program will add bulk, don’t be. Hammer and Chisel is designed to boost your metabolism so you burn more calories – even when you’re resting – by building lean muscle, not bulk. It is designed to help you define your muscles, so your bikini body will be beach ready by summer.
If you’re not a fan of cardio and prefer focusing on key muscle groups so you can watch your body transform quickly, this is a great workout. It’s also well-suited for couples who want to work out together, or for runners or cyclists who get in a lot of cardio but are looking for ways to cross train. (The added strength training will make you faster at both sports, and a stronger core will improve your form, making you less prone to injuries.)
What’s the program?
Hammer and Chisel is a 60-day health plan that includes portion control as well as daily workouts that pack plenty of power into 30 to 40 minutes a day, so they’re easy to fit into your schedule. The workouts include training by both Sagi and Autumn, and focus on weights, strength training and body sculpting, along with a touch of cardio to get your heart rate up.
Why is it special?
Hammer and Chisel uses SSP Training, which focuses on Stabilization, Strength and Power. The workouts maximize your effort using interval training to build big-time endurance and melt away fat while carving muscles and giving you a defined, sculpted body.
Is Hammer and Chisel suitable for beginners?
No matter what your fitness level, The Master’s Hammer and Chisel program will work for you. It includes the same portion-control containers from Autumn’s 21 Day Fix – so you know what to eat and how much, no more guesswork – and you’ll be properly fueled to hit the weights. The workout is advanced, but each move has a modifier so you can build strength and endurance as you go.
Master’s Hammer and Chisel Challenge Pack
With the Challenge Pack (onsale through January), you get a free 30-day trial of Beachbody On Demand – which allows you access to ALL the workouts in the Beachbody library, no matter where you are – and you’ll also be able to try Hammer & Chisel’s two workouts, ISO Speed Hammer and Total Body Chisel. There’s NO sound! Gah!
Phew! Found it on your youtube channel! Thank you!
Curious, why would I need this if I am doing P90X3?
How do these workouts compare to those in X3?
Lastly, wouldn’t combining weights 3 days with cardio 3, resting 1 and keeping the workout times down to 30-40 minutes give equal results as this?
Thanks for your honest responses!
Personally, I need variety but so do humans! It’s great to switch it up to shock your muscles + the meal plan comes with the portion control containers which will help you with your results more!
How does this compare to p90x3?
And,if I have x3 why should I order this and will it be harder/better than x3?
It’s TOTALLY different. Tony likes to emphasis tons of variety and flexibility/recovery. Hammer & Chisel is a program designed by Mr. Israel (a body builder) and a bikini competitor — so it’s going to focus more on building muscle groups for that “competitor” look!! All the trainers are very different and offer a variety of moves/workouts/beliefs around what they do! It’s challenging and VERY different!! If you DO decide to do it, message me after you grab your pack so I can add you to our support group on Facebook!
How does this compare to jullian michaels body revolution?
My wife just bought this for me I’m so pumped to try this is have done p90x insanity, bodybeast how can I join the support group
how many calories does the ISO strength chisel burn?
I’m 5’6″, 158lbs, using 10lb weights….thanks!
Not 100% sure, I don’t use a heart rate monitor and it varies from person to person!
Does this program bulk up women in the legs and butt?
Women don’t “bulk” — we don’t have testosterone!!
What equipment do I need to have? I thought I saw a pic of a pull-up bar?
I am a 35 yr old women at 5″5 height and currently weighing 132 pounds would this be a good program for me? I still want to lose that unwanted midsection fat in my belly, love handles and lift my booty- (the fat can stay there just want it lifted) Will I lose and tone in that area along with other areas of my body? I am worried that I will gain weight and look bigger than I am. I already have a wide hip and don’t want to look bigger. I want to lose and lean out. I have done 21DF for a couple of rounds and seem to be at a plateau. I started with not much weight to lose to begin with. I started at 136 my goal is 130 but fine with a higher number as long as I can see my waist shrink. Need to know which program is recommended next.
Thank you,
Hi Michelle! I’d love to chat with you about this, I’ll be shooting you an email shortly to discuss options!
i’ve been doing this for a month with only a 2lb weight loss WHY? my nutrition is not perfect but i’m really trying i know i’m getting stronger which is awesome but my inches are very minimal WHY? it’s frustrating to see others accomplish results 🙁
Hey Grace, maybe you’re relying to heavily on the scale? It’s not the best way to measure results. Are you getting stronger? Are you going up in weight? Are you getting enough sleep? Are you drinking Shakeology? What do you mean you’re not following the meal plan perfectly? What does that look like?
I’m having trouble deciding what plan to choose. I’m 165 lbs, 5’8 with some fat on my stomach. I would like to be 165 of muscle, but do I choose the Lose Weight option, or do I choose the Maintain Weight option. I guess, if I do maintain weight, will it help me lose the fat and gain muscle?
I’d start with the lower calorie bracket and just pay attention to your energy levels. If you’re tired or really hungry, refer to the add/subtract part of the meal plan and start adding in what’s suggested. Also, are you drinking Shakeology?
Hi,
i would like to start MHC but i’m not sure with the weight… 10 lbs are fine to start? In your opinion?
I do not lift weight but i’ve done insanity x 2, max 30 x 3…
It depends on you and how you feel. Try 10 lbs and see how it goes and if it is too much be sure to drop weights and modify if needed. The thing to do is always challenge yourself but do not over do it. It is a fine line to walk but with experience you will get it. When doing compound movements like Autumn likes to do I generally go lighter than I would if I was doing an isolated movement.
