I was going to wait till tomorrow to post this but I wanted to ride the energy from the today’s National Wake Up Call with CEO Carl Daikeler and pour my heart into this, so bare with me. I can’t even describe the nightmares I’ve lived and had to overcome to get to where I am today. I’m not saying my life was more screwed up than yours but when your sister says “I’m surprised you’re not in a mental institution” based on your family life – you can get maybe a smidge of an idea. But I doubt it. On top of that, I had to find a way to overcome the disease of alcoholism which I live with every day. Do I think about drinking? Not today! Why? I’ve done some MAJOR work around it and the 12th step of that work is to pay it forward. I work with women every day helping them learn how to stay sober. Why? Because that’s WHAT YOU DO! You pay it forward, always! So, when I found this fitness community of amazing people helping each other by paying it forward, needless to say I was immediately drawn to it! Then, when I realized I could pay it forward with business mentorship as well? I was ALL OVER THAT! A job where I can literally be OF SERVICE day in and day out and live a life beyond my WILDEST DREAMS? It didn’t seem too good to be true because I know how hard doing the work on yourself is and I knew that since I overcame an illness that kills millions of people every year. I could do ANYTHING I put my mind, heart, body and soul into!

So, why am I making this post? Well, this morning I was sitting on the couch drinking coffee when all of I sudden I heard Carl say my name. I froze like a deer in headlights and shot a look over to Kevin Mashburn with wide eyes when he said the following “Here’s a women who was just in Italy, TOP 10 and doing amazing and she’s not slowing down. It just blows me away. That’s somebody who’s done great, a true leader, she could just be hanging out during the Holidays but no – she’s MISSION oriented. She’s felt what it’s like to get your life in order, rooted in health and fitness, rooted in helping people and despite this incredible success and cash flow that she’s achieved – she’s working as hard as I’ve ever seen her work and we can all learn from that.” The CEO of a billion dollar company said these things about me? The girl who used to warm the bar stool at the local dive. The girl who used to do drugs for days at a time. The girl who was just going through the MOTIONS and found LIFE through a spiritual experience and being of service to others? If I can do it, why can’t you? Is it easy? Hell no! Does it take work? Hell yes! Is it worth it? Oh man, there’s nothing that tastes sweeter than a REALLY GOOD COME BACK…

Right after the call this photo (on the left) popped up in my messages. Coincidence? I think NOT! It was sent over by my sister aka the universe and it reminded me of how far I’ve come on my health journey. I didn’t find my coach till I was already 3 years sober but I had hit ROCK BOTTOM in my health and I needed the right tools & help but most of all, I just needed SUPPORT. That’s what she had to offer me. That’s all she needed to do. Just be there. Just knowing she was there meant the world to me. After I realized my potential finishing my first two programs, I knew the organic next step. I had to become a coach. To me, it was a golden rule. I wanted to share that PAYING IT FORWARD is the ONLY WAY you can keep something. The ONLY reason I became a coach was to ensure that I never go back to the photo on the left. Not to be talked about on a national call while working in my PJ’s from home. Not to make more money than I ever thought possible. Not to travel the world but to HELP PEOPLE. All that happens when you are TRULY trying to make a difference and are putting your ego, your feelings and your emotions second. For me, this is my dharma. Sharing my story is why I was put on this earth. All the things I went through and overcame? They happened for a REASON. To deliver hope and offer opportunities to others that require A LOT OF WORK. I took the photo on the right today after a morning of snow boarding and was SHOCKED when I put them side by side. Same hoodie, same girl, different insides and different outsides. Guess what though? IT WORKS IF YOU WORK IT and I was willing to do whatever it takes and still am.
