About Me
Hello! I’m Amy Silverman, the founder of the Beachbody Team “Set Your Soul on Fire” (#SYSOF). (I am also and one of Beachbody’s TOP 10 Elite Coaches—more on that in a sec.) In just 4 years, my life has gone from a daily struggle to success…and I hope to help others experience the same change! I am passionate about helping others achieve full-body wellness while living life to the fullest—and that’s what my work is all about.
For me, achieving true fitness (inside and out) has been quite a journey. I lived a very different life before becoming one of Beachbody’s Top 10 Coaches. Back then, I was a full-time student and full-time waitress bogged down with years of stress, drinking, smoking, and all-around unhealthy living. I searched for purpose in my life and tried to achieve my ambitions, but I was stuck in a rut. My job gave me only enough to live from paycheck-to-paycheck and was going nowhere; and any hopes of getting my degree were far, far off in the distance. I longed to travel and to indulge in my love of fashion, but I had no money for any of that either. To top it all off, the green smoothies, herbal supplements, and hours spent each week at the gym exercising were not helping in my struggle with my weight or bank account. I refused to give up, but it seemed there was no way out.
In short, when I first found Beachbody, I was a twenty-something riddled with acne, depression, and hopelessness. My self-esteem was low, and it took all I had to keep from feeling totally defeated. I knew that I had to change, but I didn’t know how I could. Finally, one day I logged onto Facebook, stumbled across the transformation of my future Beachbody coach, and everything changed. I had found the way. Sold on the transformation my friend had undergone, I started my first at-home program. Of course I didn’t know it right away, but more than just my Beachbody journey began that day—my journey towards health and happiness started, too.
Fast-forward a bit to 2011: I’d lost weight that had always refused to budge; I had new found clarity and purpose; I had started a life-changing adventure towards wellness. In short, things were finally looking up. That’s when I decided to pay it forward to others by becoming a Beachbody coach. I had no formal fitness experience and no business training, but I did have passion, dedication, and a desire to help others transform their lives as I had transformed mine. I wanted to share with others the wonders that Shakeology and home workouts but most of all COMMUNITY had done for me.
But, of course, I had to make a living—though we both worked full-time, my husband and I could barely pay our rent in San Francisco. Bolstered by my husband’s support, the almost-miraculous transformation I had undergone, the help of a few mentors, and my willingness to put in lots of hard work, I started coaching and succeeded in turning it into a business where, working part-time, I now make a six-figure income each year. And that’s just from helping others live their lives to the fullest, as I now live mine! I love what I do: helping others get results, change their lives, and break down the barriers that hold them back.
Becoming a Beachbody Coach has done more for me than bring me to health from sickness. It’s allowed me to overcome the financial problems that weighed on me and indulge my love of fashion, travel, and photography as well as explore others things that interest me. Today, my husband, Kevin, and I work together from our beautiful home to help others change their lives. Along with our two dogs, Murphy the Boxer and Loki the Great Dane and our cat Bobby Digital, we live the lives of our dreams—and I’m here to tell you that you can live the life of your dreams, too, so long as you are persistent, consistent, and willing to work and grow.
