One of my goals in 2015 is to make more art and start selling my prints (a big goal I’ve had since I was a kid!) I don’t think any of you guys know this about me BUT I was in school for matte painting/compositing. Basically, I wanted to work on movies and digitally paint scenes. Like the kind of stuff you see in Pirates of the Caribbean/etc. I still have a huge passion for digital art but I put a lot of things on the back burner while I was focusing on this business. I knew in time, I’d be able to get back to my passions which is one of the reasons why I pursued this opportunity with such gusto! I don’t believe in being a starving artist. I believe in working hard for what you want and finding the avenues that are going to get you there. It’s finding a path and realizing your dreams the unconventional way.

Someone commented on one of my photos the other day that they wanted to see some of my “old photography.” I’m not sure if this is what she was referring to but I thought I’d have some fun with editing today and wow, did it feel GOOD! I got a surge of creative energy and I can’t wait to get back to playing around with my photography and art! My main medium has always been Photoshop. Did you know my “dream big” goal used to be to be the director of photography, work for Tim Burton and eventually become an Art Director? To be part of something BIG like a feature film? I wanted to be one of the thousands of names you see rolling through movie credits but then I had an “a-ha” moment and all the planets aligned for me. I’ve always wanted to be part of something amazing. That I DO know.

What happened? I realized that I’d still have massive amounts of debt. I’d still have to report to a boss and I probably wouldn’t always enjoy my projects and all I REALLY always wanted was just to travel the world, collect pretty things, feel good, do my photography and share my life. Turns out, there’s a job title for that and I’m doing it right now! In my 8th year of art school, I was finally overtaken by this passion to get healthy and help others find their light. To be part of something bigger than me, bigger than a movie and bigger than I could ever imagine. Through health/fitness I found my full potential in all areas of my life. I truly believe it’s the foundation on which we need to build our lives. So, anyway – I didn’t mean for this post to get so long but I get so inspired by my photography. It just makes me want to write and write and write!
